To develop a new generation botanical experience accessible to both the Shepparton community and visitors. This conversion of a rubbish tip in a damaged floodplain will showcase Australian native and indigenous plants as well as incorporating public art.
To assist the Australian Botanic Gardens Committee in developing the Gardens, encouraging community involvement and ownership of this unique setting and in providing a safe and peaceful place for learning relaxation, exercise and a love of our natural environment.
The Friends of the Australian Botanic Gardens Shepparton (FABGS) are a friendly, social group of people who voluntarily support and assist the development of the Australian Botanic Gardens Shepparton. FABGS is an incorporated, not-for-profit organisation that depends on enthusiastic support by the community.
Be a part of a group that is closely involved with the development of a major Goulburn Valley conservation landmark that will be a resource for the future and along the way, have fun and enjoy some physical exercise!
Having said that, there are roles for people of all ages and abilities. We need people who can promote the gardens, help with catering, do tours, manage archives, take photos, grow plants, entertain....the list is endless.
